Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation

The WellStar Cancer Program was the first accredited Network Cancer Program in the state of Georgia and the fifth in the nation to receive this designation by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS).

American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

All WellStar Mammography services are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/Mammography Quality Standards Accreditation (MQSA). In addition, all WellStar Computer Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine and Ultra Sound services are ACR-accredited.

Surgery Center for Excellence®

WellStar Kennestone Hospital has been recognized with Surgery Center for Excellence® accreditation by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Surgical Review Corporation.

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

WellStar rehabilitation facilities located at Cobb and Kennestone Hospitals are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

College of American Pathologists

All WellStar laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Georgia Department of Human Resources

WellStar Paulding Nursing Care Center is licensed by the Department of Human Resources for the state of Georgia.

Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories

WellStar was granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) for our laboratories’ commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.

Joint Commission Gold Seal

All WellStar hospitals have received the Gold Seal of Approval accreditation from The Joint Commission, recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects a hospital’s commitment to meeting defined performance criteria. WellStar Home Care, Hospice and Behavioral Health programs have also received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission.

WellStar Cobb and Kennestone Hospitals have achieved Certified Primary Stroke Center designation by the Joint Commission.

WellStar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding Hospitals have also achieved Total Knee and Hip Certification from the Joint Commission.

WellStar Kennestone is the only hospital in the state of Georgia to receive the Disease Specific Care Certification for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and Cardiac Valve Repair/Replacement programs. Also, it is the second hospital in the nation to have both.

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

WellStar Kennestone  Hospital is the first accredited Breast Health Center in Georgia to be granted a three-year full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The Breast Health Center is part of WellStar’s Cancer program.

American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

WellStar Cobb, Douglas and Kennestone Hospitals are accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

Society of Thoracic Surgeons

WellStar Kennestone is the only hospital in the state of Georgia to have received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) "Three Star Quality Rating", out of a possible three stars, for our Adult Cardiac Surgical Program.
