Usual good experience

I had to bring my kids with me to a routine check up to refill a medication. We had to wait for 50 minutes past the scheduled appointment time, and my young kids were very antsy. Although the staff was apologetic, I then felt like my appointment was rushed, and my doctor did not listen to me. This is not the first time that I haven't felt listened to by Dr. Yamin. I will not be returning to this practice.

My physician is knowledgeable and I appreciate her thoroughness. However, I have a clinical background in healthcare and have worked alongside physicians and medical teams for many years. After several years as her patient, I would appreciate being treated as a clinically informed patient who understands medical terminology and does not need basic explanations of standard lab values or procedures. I research my conditions and come to appointments prepared. More importantly, I have multiple sclerosis managed by a neurologist for 20 years who has carefully calibrated my medications. I have found that my primary care physician sometimes questions or pushes back on medication dosages that my neurologist has prescribed. I would appreciate a more collaborative approach that defers to my specialist on MS-specific treatment decisions, as this creates unnecessary friction and undermines my confidence in the coordination of my care. I want a primary care relationship that works. At this point, I am not confident that this one is serving me well.

Onsite lab services have been a disappointment for two reasons: the very long wait time despite a wait list of just a few patients (I waited over an hour once), and the surprise billing for an in-network practice and onsite lab that sent out some of my lab work to Kennestone hospital (unbenownst to me), which had lab providers that were not in network. Wait times to see Dr. Yamin are exemplary and consistently favorable -- thank you so much to her and her team for managing the process so well!

The front door has a known problem. Three of us stood there from 730 till 740, waiting to get in. The sign clearly states the facility opens at 730. I mentioned it to the woman who checked me in and she said it is a known problem and shook her head. We did try calling the number on the sign at the door but no one answered. More than one car passed us and went to the back of the bldg. The assumption would be that those were employees. Yet, no one opened the door. Finally, someone who appeared to be a patient, no idea how he got in, came and walked to the door from inside so it would open for us. Not good customer service. If it is a known issue, a Wellstar employee should be watching the door especially since we, patients, are told to arrive 15 minutes early. That was not respectful of us, the patients, who chose to go to Wellstar
