Early prevention can help determine an individual's risk for heart disease, stroke and other serious conditions. The WellStar Know Your Heart program is a preventive, self-pay screening program. Testing is performed at four WellStar Cardiovascular Medicine offices including: Kennestone Outpatient Pavilion, Woodstock, Acworth Health Park and the East Cobb Health Park.

There are two levels of testing.

Basic Risk Assessment includes cardiac related lab work, non-invasive screening tests, a wellness survey and cardiac risk assessment. The cost is $49.00. Patients that are asymptomatic, over 18 years old and do not have risk factors for heart disease are eligible for the Basic Risk Assessment.

Advanced Risk Assessment includes the Basic Risk Assessment plus a CT Heart Screen. The cost is $139.00. To be eligible for the Advanced Risk Assessment, a patient must be 40 years old and have two of the following risk factors:

  • Family history of heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Current or past tobacco use
  • Abnormally high stress
  • Overweight or obese
  • Female age 65 or older
  • Male age 55 or older

All patients receive a personalized report of their Know Your Heart results reviewed by a WellStar Cardiovascular Medicine provider.
