The number of people with diabetes is exploding. Eight percent of all Americans have diabetes--23.8 million people in the United States.This represents an increase of about three million in two years. An additional 57 million have pre-diabetes, which puts them at greater risk for developing diabetes.
The good news is that as the treatments improve, the rates of complications have decreased.
Without the proper education and treatment, lives may be interrupted by serious medical consequences.
