Dr. Wachs received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, after completing a six-year Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine program. He completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York and completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Wachs practiced cardiology in South Bend, Ind., from 1984 until 2004, where he was medical director of cardiology at Memorial Hospital. Since February 2004, he has been with WellStar Medical Group, Cardiovascular Medicine where he serves as medical director. He is currently on staff at WellStar Cobb, Douglas and Kennestone hospitals.
Dr. Wachs is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the College of Chest Physicians. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and has a particular interest is congestive heart failure.
