Dr. Esmail received her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She completed an internship at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, a residency in ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Emory University School of Medicine.

She is a member of the American Academy of Opthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Opthalmolgoy and Strabismus.
