Dr. Schwegman received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in emergency medicine at the Ohio State University, where he served as chief resident. He is board certified in emergency medicine, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. He joined the faculty at Emory University and served as assistant professor of Emergency Medicine for several years. Prior to joining Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia, Dr. Schwegman worked as an emergency physician for Northside Emergency Associates. In addition to his work with Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia, he is the chief medical officer of HyperbaRXs. Dr. Schwegman is the co-chairman of the Atlanta chapter of Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the number of lower extremity amputations and improving the quality of life of those afflicted with wounds and complications of diabetes and peripheral arterial disease.
