Dr. Gould attended college at Penn State and received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Penn. This school is one of the oldest medical colleges in the country and for years, provided the Southern states with the majority of their doctors. After completing medical school in 1983, Dr. Gould finished two years of internal medicine training at the University of Texas Medical Branch and then completed his internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center. He stayed on at Duke and completed a three-year fellowship in Hematology-Oncology.
In 1990, he relocated to Marietta, Ga., where he has been in practice over 20 years. Since, he has served as a staff physician at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Other hospital responsibilities have included serving as Medical Director of Hospice, serving as Chairman of the Quality Review Committee, and participating on the Medical Care Evaluation Committee. Dr. Gould treats all cancers that afflict adult patients and is active in clinical research. Currently, he also serves as the Medical Director of his 20 physician oncology practice.
