Dr. Matthews is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Matthews served as Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy where she received the Navy Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Before joining Wellstar Physicians Group, Dr. Matthews was the Medical Director at Dekalb Medical Hospital at Hillandale. She has a proven track record of improving operations, providing quality care to her patients and service excellence.
Dr. Matthews is a fellow of the Partnership, Inc., Boston Fellows Program, the American College of Emergency Physicians, Georgia College of Emergency Physicians and the Urgent Care Association of America.
Her hobbies and interest include fitness, traveling, singing, skiing and surrounding herself with good, down to earth people.
