About

Dr. Houck completed his bachelor's degree at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C. He received his Doctorate of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he also completed his general surgery residency. He then moved on to the Medical College of Virginia for his cardiothoracic fellowship and followed that with additional training in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Houck stayed on at Cedar Sinai Medical Center as an attending surgeon for the next four years. He eventually relocated to the Atlanta area and began working at WellStar Kennestone and Cobb Hospitals. Dr. Houck's surgical interests lie in all aspects of noncardiac thoracic surgery, in particular the techniques of video-assisted thoracic surgery. He also has an interest in laparoscopic foregut surgery. He has practiced thoracic surgery since 2002. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Houck has lived in the Atlanta area since 2006.
