Dr. Shaffer has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 1994, previously served in the U.S. Army in Augusta, San Antonio, Berlin, Germany and Tacoma. He is originally from Central Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology at the University of Central Florida, and subsequently received his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Shaffer then received his training in general internal medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington, and his specialty training at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Dr Shaffer has been an active member of Christian Medical Society since 1979 and serves on the board for the Atlanta Area chapter. He is active mentoring medical students and traveling with short-term medical mission trips throughout the year.
Dr. Shaffer is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
