Dr. McCoy received his Undergraduate degree in physiology from the University of California in Berkley. He continued his education at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans where he received a Ph.D. in Physiology in June of 1980 and subsequently he received his medical degree May 1984.
Dr. McCoy completed his internal medicine residency in June 1987 and Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship in May of 1990 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 1990, Dr. McCoy joined Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C., at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he currently evaluates and treats patients while actively participating in Clinical Trials and Research.
Dr. McCoy is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
