Dr. Thompson earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Meharry Medical School in Nashville, Tenn. and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Thompson has served the Cobb County community since 1993. Her interests include minimally invasive laparoscopy surgery and high risk obstetrics. She is board certified in OB/GYN and is the former chairwoman for the Department of OB/GYN at WellStar Cobb Hospital. Dr. Thompson is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Georgia Medical Association.
