Dr. Miles was born in Atlanta and raised in Nashville. In May 1972, he received his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Duke University in Durham. He transferred to Tulane University, School of Medicine in New Orleans where he received his medical degree in June 1976. He remained at Tulane University where he completed an internal medicine residency in June 1979.
In July 1979, Dr. Miles became an active service man in the United States Air Force at USAF Clinic Bentwaters, RAF Bentwaters in the United Kingdom where he was stationed until August 1981. In September 1981, he was transferred to USAF Hospital Mather in California where he remained until June 1983. In July 1983, Dr. Miles returned to Atlanta where he completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Emory University, School of Medicine in June 1985.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 1985, continued to serve in the United States Air Force at USAF Regional Hospital at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.
In August 1987, he joined Medical Associates of North Georgia in Canton as a Staff Physician until December 1992. In January 1993, he joined North Atlanta Hematology and Oncology, P.C., as a staff physician in Roswell until January 1995. In March 1995, Dr. Miles opened his private practice, Oncology Associates of North Georgia in Canton until December 2006. In January 2007, he joined Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. in Canton where he currently evaluates and treats patients while actively participating in Clinical Trials and Research.
Dr. Miles is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
