About Us
WellStar Pulmonary Medicine is dedicated to providing patients with the best possible medical care. Many of our providers have received special training in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine.
Pulmonary Medicine is a specialized medical field dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving the lungs and chest. Critical Care Medicine is a specialized medical field involving critical illness resulting from damage to any organ system.
We treat a wide variety of illnesses, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, respiratory failure, tumor/cancer of the lung, and sleep apnea syndrome.
In our individual discussions with you, we hope to provide some understanding of the nature of your illness, possible diagnostic procedures, which may be required to fully identify your problem, and the details of any therapy that may be necessary. We believe that it is important for you to understand our approach to your care, and hope that you will feel free to ask us any question.
In many instances, we may be asked to see you in consultation by your attending physician. Generally, this means that your physician has identified a particular respiratory problem, a critical care problem, a sleep problem, or a problem that may require a specialized diagnostic procedure. Under these circumstances, we will be closely involved with your medical care in conjunction with your attending physician until these problems have been fully evaluated.
