Live Well Marietta is a new partnership between WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center and the City of Marietta aimed at strengthening the health and wellness of area residents.
Live Well Marietta connects citizens and local businesses through a common interest in healthy living, and will hold a Kick-Off event at the Marietta Farmer’s Market on September 7, 2013. The kick-off event will include yoga, a cooking demonstration, health-education booths, a physical activity demonstration, and the following free screenings: cholesterol and glucose fingersticks, and blood pressure screenings.
Sixteen months of activities are planned on the Marietta Square, including free, quarterly “lunch & learns”, covering topics such as heart health and nutrition. Monthly yoga classes will also be held on the Square at no charge.
WellStar and the City of Marietta are funding the entire project without tax money and have tailored it specifically for the Marietta community. The success of the program is based on participation by local residents, so come out and support your city, neighbors and family!
