Delivering World-Class Care Through Philanthropy
For over 15 years, WellStar Foundation has acted as a supporting organization to the WellStar Health System, Northwest Georgia’s leading and largest not-for-profit healthcare provider. “Not-for-profit” means that instead of distributing revenues to individual shareholders, we reinvest revenues into new WellStar programs and enhanced services for the benefit of our community.
Patient revenues cover just enough of our expenses to maintain high quality care. Only with philanthropy, will we be able to achieve our vision of world- class care.

That means making preventative health screenings, educational support for mothers and families, and the very best in medical care available to everyone.
A History of World-Class Care
WellStar Foundation began in 1995 in response to medical advances needed by our healthcare system to continue the pursuit of world-class healthcare. From our modest beginnings with four dedicated and experienced team members to our current 10-member staff, the Foundation has been instrumental in rallying employee, volunteer, corporate and community support for WellStar Health System initiatives. A Proud Legacy of Achievement
With the generous support of our community, we have raised more than $30M to help fund programs like the Cyberknife®, Safe Kids and equipment like our new, specialized bed for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that gives premature babies the best possible chance at survival. In addition, donations to the WellStar Foundation have provided support in the following areas: HOSPICE
• WellStar Community Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain
• Angel Fund Endowment, a fund to help patients who need financial assistance to receive care.

• New Chest Pain Observation Unit
