Installing a child’s car seat may look easy, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has noted that 72% of car and booster seats inspected were incorrectly installed or not used properly.* WellStar and Cobb Public Health co-lead the Safe Kids Cobb County Coalition. Safe Kids Cobb County keeps children safe in our communities by offering free child car seat inspections and education.
According to the CDC, the proper use of age- and size-appropriate car seats can reduce the risk of death in passenger cars by as much as 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers ages one to four years.

Having your child’s car seat inspected and making sure you are using it properly is free and takes only 30-45 minutes. Trained technicians will provide you with educational materials and check or assist you with the installation of your car seat.
